Local bakers feed those in need

Great Harvest Bread Company

In the midst of a bread shortage, neighbors and a local bakery have come together to help out our local food bank! After a customer donated $700 to Great Harvest Bread Company, they baked that amount of bread and donated it to our local food bank. Since then, several more customers have donated bread, thus supporting the local business and the food pantry! They were also featured on our local news channel. https://www.fox5dc.com/video/665775

Idle Hands Bread Company

Earlier this week, the owner of Idle Hands Bread Company in Richmond offered up free bread for those in need:

From Facebook: "Servers, hosts, bussers, dishwashers, bartenders, barbacks, line cooks, chefs, pastry chefs, baristas, flight attendants, hotel workers, parents who can’t work and many more I’m sure: This is for you. It’s possible we will run out quickly today but there will be much more tomorrow. I’m not looking for any thanks in this but if you want to express gratitude to anyone please point it towards the amazing people who are holding me up with their support be it encouragement, suggestions, offers of assistance, financial assistance etc. without all of them this plan to give to people hurting wouldn’t work. 10am. 1 per person, 1 in 1 out. No charge."
